Discord is definitely a professional platform to broadcast and get in touch with your community of like-minded gamers. But often, you may need features that Discord doesn’t offer. Here come the bots. You can add these Discord bots to the server and improve the functionality of your server according to your taste.
Having said that, how do you add bots to your server? Where can you find them? Where can you find them? How to add bots to your server on mobile devices and how to remove them from your server?
Add Bots to Discord Server on Desktop
Before you begin, remember that there is no single way to add bots to your server. You can find many bot shops online and there are also official websites for many bots. However, the process is similar for the most part.
Here I continue to the top.gg website as it is one of the most popular Discord bot stores and also hosts the most bots. Check out this list of the best bots you need to keep your server on Discord.
To add bots to your server, open the Discord bot store top.gg. You can find a lot of bots here and it also provides you with a list of top-rated and trending bots, so that you can easily find new bots on the list. You also have a search option to find the specific bot you need.

Now if you want to add the bot to your server, just click on the “View” option.

This will open the bot page. Now, on the right side panel, you can find the option “Invite”. Click on it to invite the bot to your server.

This will redirect you to Discord. If you haven’t logged into your Discord account in the browser before, you can log in now.

Once done, it will ask you to select the server for the bot to be added to that specific server. If you can’t see the server you want to add, you most likely don’t have permission to add bots to that server. You can contact someone in a higher role to do that.

Here you can find all the things this bot can access from the server. If you don’t want the bot to access things like message history, files, etc., you can deselect them and then click “Authorize” to grant the bot permissions.

This will redirect you to the official website of the added bot and voila, you have successfully added the bot to your server.

Although the bot is added to your server, you must assign a role to it. This will make things easier to manage and also provides an option to manage permissions for all bots later on.
To do that, open Discord and select the server that you have added the bot to. Now click on the server name in the upper left corner and click on “Server Settings” from the popup menu.

Here select the “Roles” option on the left sidebar and click the plus “+” icon next to the roles.

Then name the role to assign all bots to that specific role.

Toggle the permissions that bots can access in that role. Make sure you do not toggle the Administrator and Manage Server permissions. Click Save Settings

Now, select the “Members” option on the left panel.

Here, click the plus icon next to the bot and then select the role to assign that role to the bot.

Now even if some bots are trying to do something with your server, they can’t do it, as we limit them in a container called roles.

Add bots to the Discord server on mobile devices
There is not much difference in adding the Discord bot to the server on the mobile device. But you can’t add bots with Discord mobile app, but you can’t access Discord from mobile browser. You can use a combination of application and browser to get the job done.
First, open the top.gg website in your browser. Just like on the desktop, here you can find the top-rated and trending bots lists, as well as search for specific bots.

Once you find the bot you want to add, just click the “View” option and then click the “Invite” option.

If you are not logged into your Discord account in the browser, you can log in from here.

Now continue the process of selecting the server and granting permission in the browser. If you can’t find the server you need, you most likely don’t have permission to add bots to that server. You can get in touch with someone who has a higher role.

Now open the Discord app, select the server on the left side panel. Then tap on the server name at the top.

Tap the “Settings” option to open the server settings and then select the “Roles” option.

Now tap on the plus button below to create a new role for your bots. Name the role and enable all the permissions that you want the bot to access, except for administrator and server administration permissions.

Now go back and select the “Members” option to open the Members list. Here select the bot and then select the role to assign the bot to that role.

top.gg is not the only way to add bots to Discord. You can also try Discord bots, Carbonitex, etc. Or you can try bots like Mee6, Dyno, Bastion which are multipurpose bots that have a lot of features for you to enable.
