Samsung offers its own set of applications for Galaxy phones, such as Contacts, Keyboard, Messages, and even a Gallery application. The Samsung Gallery app is loaded with cool features and settings that you might not be aware of. For example, you can view duplicate images, hide albums, create album groups, and much more. 1. How to change the view or layout in Samsung Gallery

By default, when you open the Samsung Gallery app, you will be taken to the Pictures view. Here you can see all the images with the most recent one at the top. You can switch views and go to Album mode by tapping on the Album option at the bottom.

To change the layout or size of the grid for pictures and albums, use the pinch in and out gesture.

2. Scroll up quickly

While viewing images in the Samsung Gallery app, if you’ve scrolled a lot, you don’t need to scroll again to get to the top. Just touch the Above button present in the middle at the bottom of the screen. You can also touch the Albums or Pictures tab to quickly scroll to the top.

3. Sort images

You cannot change the sort mode for the Pictures view in the Gallery app. However, you can for Albums. Go to the Albums see and touch the three points icon. Please select Sort out from the list and choose the sort mode.

4. Select Multiple Images

Often times, you want to take action on multiple images together. For that, you can select multiple images. There are two ways to select multiple images in the Samsung Gallery app.

First, touch and hold an image in the Gallery app to select it. Without lifting your finger, drag on the screen to select other images. Alternatively, touch the three dots icon at the top and select Edit. The multiple selection mode will open. Touch the images to select them.

5. View duplicate images

Duplicate images are one of the main reasons for low storage space on Samsung Galaxy phones. The Samsung Gallery app offers a cool feature where it automatically displays duplicate images. Then you can delete them and keep just one image to free up storage space.

To use this function, touch the three dots icon at the top of the Samsung Gallery app. Make sure you are on the Images tab. Choose View duplicates.

6. Add images to favorites

Are there some images that you love to see regularly? You can add them to the Favorites folder. That way, you won’t have to search for them every day. You can simply open the Favorites folder.

To bookmark an image, open it first and then press the Heart icon at the bottom.

7. Use the search function to find images

You can find images quickly using the search function in the Samsung Gallery application. While search isn’t as powerful as Google Photos, it still delivers good results. You’ll find the search icon at the top of the Images tab.

8. Quickly view recent photos from the home screen

If you don’t like how the Samsung Gallery app looks when you first open it, there’s another way to quickly view your recent photos, and that’s from the home screen too. Offers a cleaner interface.

To use it, first open the Samsung Gallery app and tap the three bars icon. Choose Recent from the menu.

Tap on the three dots icon on the Recent screen and select Add to the home screen. Now whenever you need to access recent photos, just tap on the newly added Recent icon on your home screen.

9. Quickly watch videos from the home screen

Similar to the previous feature, you can also quickly watch videos from the home screen. To do so, tap the three-bar icon in the Gallery app and select Videos.

10. Create album groups

Almost all gallery applications allow you to create albums. But what about grouping albums too? Interestingly, the Samsung Gallery application allows you to create album groups so that you can group similar albums.

To create album groups, first go to the Albums tab. Tap on the three points icon and select Create a group. Give your group a name and add the albums to it.

11. Hide albums

The Samsung Gallery application offers an easy way to hide albums. To do this, go to the Albums view and tap the three points icon. Please select Hide or show albums. Select the albums you want to hide by enabling the switch next to them. Similarly, if you want to show albums, repeat the steps and turn off the switch next to them.

12. Delete location data

If you accidentally deleted pictures or videos from the Samsung Gallery app, fortunately they can be easily recovered within 30 days using the Trash feature. So make sure Trash is enabled in Samsung Gallery app. To enable Trash, touch the three bars icon and select Settings. Enable the toggle next to Trash.

To retrieve photos from Trash, touch the three bars icon on the home screen of the Samsung Gallery app and select Trash. Select the images to retrieve and press the Restore option.

14. Access the secret menu
