Picture this, you bought a game for your PS4, you were up all night trapped in a level that seemed impossible to solve. You spent the next day thinking through all the strategies, only to find that your roommate or cousin completed that level for you. This bothers me a lot because it ruins the experience. I create an additional user, but that does not guarantee that it will stay away. Fortunately, PlayStation allows you to set a PIN on your account. This would prevent someone from taking over my game progress in the future.
Setting a passcode on your PS4 is really simple, you just have to follow a few steps to activate the security feature. You can set a 4-digit code that uses PS4 controller keys instead of letters and numbers. Think of it as a cheat code we used to have in old retro games, up, up, down, R2, or whatever key combination you can think of.

Delete users on PS4
If you have children in your home, you may want to prevent them from accessing adult content. By default, anyone with a PSN account can log into their PS4 and play. Even if you protect their account with a passcode, they can still log in with a new account and play. You can work around this problem by deleting all other user accounts and disabling the creation of a new account.
First, remove all other accounts from the PS4, go to Settings and select Login Settings.
In Login Settings, scroll down to User Management and press X to open the list of options.
Select your user to delete by pressing X on your controller. We are going to delete all the users that you do not want to associate with your PS4.
It will ask you several times for confirmation before deleting all user content. Confirm all prompts and now the user has been removed.
Disable new user creation and guest logins
After deleting all the users from your console, it is time to disable the creation of new users. Not only would you prevent them from creating new accounts, but you will also keep them using guest logins. Go to Settings, scroll down to ‘Parental controls / family management‘and press X to open.
Select ‘PS4 system restrictions‘from the list of options and press X to open.
It will ask you to enter the access code before continuing. If you have never changed the access code before, you can enter 0000 by pressing the Square (□) button four times on the controller.
You will see “Allowed” next to “New User Creation and Guest Login”.
Press X to open a list of options on the right and select ‘Not allowed‘. Now no one could create a new user to play games on your PS4.
Secure your PS4
This was a quick way to set up a passcode on PS4. This is a good practice to have a PIN on your account if you are concerned that other people will ruin your campaign or story. If you have games for people over 18 and you don’t want young people to pay for those games, setting up an access code can be of great help. Deleting an access code is just as easy and can be done in the same window. If you have any problems while setting up the passcode, please drop us a comment below.
