How to find deleted apps on Android

Are you trying to remember the name of an application that you installed a long time ago but then uninstalled? If you test tons of apps, I’m sure you’re in the same boat as me. What if I told you that there are easy ways to try to use a goldfish’s memory? So without wasting time, here we show you how to find deleted apps on Android easily. Let’s start.

Find deleted apps on Android

1. Google Play Store

Google Play Store already has a feature that allows you to check previously installed apps. Since it is a native feature, there is no need to download a third-party app or log in separately. Before proceeding with the steps, make sure you are signed in through the same Google account that you used previously. This also helps restore previous purchases, if any.

First of all, open the applications section, scroll down to Google Play Store and open it. Then from the top left corner, tap on the three horizontal line menu options which will open a sidebar showing My apps and games, Subscriptions, Account details, etc.

Google Play Store Home Page

From the sidebar, tap My apps and games which will take you to the application library. It not only consists of the apps we are looking for, but also new app updates and currently installed apps.

The My applications and games section also allows you to manage applications from the option Manage your applications. In this way, you can uninstall the applications without having to access individual application pages.

To view previously installed applications, tap on the Library section from the top of the page. On this page, you can find all the applications that you have downloaded. Since it doesn’t have a search option, just scroll down to find the app you are looking for.

By default, you get sorted by date, so you’ll find the most recently installed apps at the top. You also have the option to change the sort alphabetically.

Once you find the application you are looking for, you can tap on the app to view the app details page or use the quick install icon to the right of each app. Here’s a quick tip, if you can’t find the app you’re looking for, try switching your Google account from the profile picture icon at the top right on the Play Store home page.

2. Application installation history

Since there is an app for everything on Android, there is also an app to check the installation history. Of the many benefits, the need to open the Play Store each time is easily eliminated. So you can put the app icon on your home screen and voila.

It has a simple Play Store list type user interface. In addition, it also shows the installation date and the ability to open the application information page with a single tap. Unlike the Google Play Store, you can also sort by the first install date.

Google Play Store vs App Installation History

If you ask me, there are pros and cons to both. If you are using the Play Store, you can easily switch between multiple accounts, which is not the case with the Application Installation History. The Google Play Store gets another point for not showing ads, which is a big concern for many.

Since both methods are easy to follow, you can give each one a try and see which one works best for you. If not, check out the table below for focus points to help you decide.

Application installation history No Yes Yes No Yes Yes Yes

If you ask me, I prefer the native method because you don’t need an additional installation of the application. However, if you’re someone like me who tests tons of apps, opting for the App Installation History app is a more viable option.
